We're Dying for Coffin Couture 🖤🕸️⚰️

Forget pumpkin spice, it’s a season of black lace, bleached brows and boots that could stomp out an entire runway.

Call it coffin couture: the cultural comeback that has Jenna Ortega, Marc Jacobs and even Lisa from Blackpink reminding us that darkness never goes out of style. With Wednesday Season 2, Part 2 dropping on Sept. 3, 2025, the timing couldn’t be more killer.

As the afterglow of tomato girl summer fades, we’re leaning into the cooler weather, dark aesthetics and bold accessories that embody the trend. Drawing inspo from the ‘90s  - like everything else these days - we’re looking at you Tim Burton, the teen vamps from The Craft and the sultry sirens of Practical Magic, with a reboot already in production for 2026.

Ortega is leading the charge into the afterlife with the buzzy (but fake) trailer for Dracula and her Wednesday press tour, which has turned into a full-blown gothic fantasy. Her Ashi Studio “melted wax” couture and Ann Demeulemeester lace gowns are proof that goth can extend beyond Halloween. It’s high fashion with fangs.

Marc Jacobs’ fall 2025 show was channeling full-on vamp, with Victorian-inspired gowns, black lace, bustiers and enormous bows. The 2025 Pinterest Fall Trend Report shows a surge in grungy glam makeup with smudges, deep tones and nods to ’90s nostalgia, with searches up 652%.

Bleached brows? Still happening. And Chappell Roan’s gothic vampire look at the Reading Festival plus Lisa from Blackpink’s lace-up boots and velour Dilara Findikoglu jacket only confirm it: we’ve crossed over to the dark side.

In other words: coffin couture isn’t coming for you. It’s already here.
