Sure, the East Village has no shortage of great bars, but HiLot might be the only one rocking a 1942 clawfoot tub in its bathroom.

Owner Jen Shorr teamed up with designer Elizabeth Ingram to give the bar a moody, retro cocktail-lounge feel with plaid carpet, fringe lamps and a back “cuddle pit” that feels straight out of a Mad Men episode. Don Draper would approve.

Which brings us to the bathroom. Picture your rich grandma’s house if she had a thing for dark florals, antique light fixtures and a bubblegum-pink potty older than she is.

The clawfoot tub is the crown jewel, a completely impractical but unforgettable choice Shorr says she wanted purely because it “didn’t make sense” and would stick in people’s minds (and camera rolls).

Chappell warned us about lovers in the bathroom and a line outside the door. Honestly, that’s what you should expect here. It'd be wrong not to soak it all in from the tub, right?
